Identifikasi Pemborosan Panen Tandan Buah Segar Kelapa Sawit Petani Swadaya Berdasarkan Konsep Lean Manufacturing
Abstract
This study aims to apply the concept of lean manufacturing through the harvesting process of independent oil palm Fresh Fruit Bunches (FFB), so that the waste of harvesting process time that often occurs using agricultural mechanization equipment can be identified and then minimized. Waste identification is done through observation and questionnaires. The results of the identification through questionnaires are used as a basis for determining the appropriate VALSAT mapping tool to be used in the analysis. The result revealed that the harvesting activity, subsequent transportation to collection points, and the final loading stage were the most significant sources of waste. A hierarchical analysis determined that waiting was the most non-value-adding activity, followed by transportation and product defects. An improved process design is proposed, projecting a considerable reduction of the total harvesting time. This future-state model promises a marked increase in daily yield and a significant reduction in labor requirements, thereby enhancing overall operational efficiency.
