Abstract

This study aims to determine: (1) the role of women in rice paddy farming, and (2) the income received by women from the labor devoted to rice paddy farming in Savana Jaya Village, Waeapo District, Buru Regency. The number of respondents in this study was 37 people who were taken using purposive sampling. The research method used was descriptive analytic with data analysis tools, namely farm income analysis. The results obtained were that women farmers have roles and performance equal to men in rice paddy farming. However, the income received by women is lower, namely Rp 3.855.000 from a total farm income of Rp 14.548.146. This difference is not due to ability or amount of work, but rather because the distribution of roles and opportunities is not yet fully equal
