Abstract

Chili also has a high economic value and is quite strategic, both red chili and cayenne pepper. In Southwest Maluku Regency, the local government pays great attention to food crop commodities (especially corn), which has an impact on the area of ​​land used, considering that some types of cayenne pepper are also cultivated on land for food crops. This study aims to analyze the production and the factors that influence the production of chili farming. This research took place in April 2021 in the village of Moain with a sample of 45 people. The results showed that the production of cayenne pepper in Moain village was quite high at 2,078 kg/ha. Variables area of ​​land, seeds, labor have a positive and significant effect on the production of cayenne pepper, while farming experience has no significant effect on production. The average income level of farmers is relatively low at Rp. 1,884,417 in 18 harvests in a year
