Peranan keluarga dan kesetaraan gender dalam mencegah dan mengatasi stunting di Desa Passo kecamatan baguala kota ambon
Abstract
Stunting is a chronic nutritional problem that remains a major public health challenge in Indonesia, including in Ambon City. This study aims to analyze (1) the characteristics of households with stunted children in Ama Ory Passo, Baguala District, and (2) the role of families in preventing and addressing stunting. The study employed a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The research sample consisted of 10 households with stunted children under five years of age. The results of the study indicate that the respondents were predominantly women aged 26–35 years, with 2–3 children, a senior high school education, and the majority being housewives with household incomes ranging from IDR 1,500,000 to IDR 3,000,000 per month. Mothers continue to play a dominant role in nearly all aspects of childcare and stunting prevention, while fathers’ involvement remains relatively limited and is mainly evident in decision-making and health-related expenditures, indicating that gender role equality within the family has not yet been fully achieved
