Identifikasi Cendawan Patogen pada Daun Cabai Rawit (Capsicum frutescens L.) Menggunakan Metode Direct dan Blotter Test di Lombok Barat
Abstract
The content of capsaicinoid compounds that cause spicy taste makes chili pepper has a high marketing value in Indonesia; however, attacks by pathogenic fungi on its leaves lead to a decline in crop yield productivity of the chili pepper crop. The purpose of this study was to analyze the types of pathogenic fungi macroscopically and microscopically and the location of fungi in the leaf tissue of chili pepper with disease symptoms. Methods of fungus detection on chili pepper (Capsicum frutescens) leaves were used, namely direct test and blotter test. Chili pepper leaf samples were taken as many as 9 leaf blades that had symptoms of disease, the leaf samples were made 6 repetitions and then observed for morphological and anatomical characteristics. The results showed that five species of fungi were found on chili pepper leaves, namely Fusarium oxysporum, Curvularia lunata, Drechslera maydis, Cercospora capsici, and Colletotrichum gloeosporioides. The location of the fungus in leaf tissue is epidermal and mesophyll tissue through entering through the intercellular space and stomata in the epidermal tissue developing towards the mesophyll tissue.
