Meningkatkan Kepedulian terhadap Epilepsi dengan Menghentikan Stigma
Increasing Awareness About Epilepsy with Stigma Reduction
Abstract
Epilepsy is a neurological disease that has an impact on the psychosocial life of sufferers. The lack of public knowledge regarding epilepsy affects stigma and discrimination against sufferers. This activity aims to determine the level of general knowledge about epilepsy. This educative approach was carried out at the Public Health Centre (PHC) Christina Martha Tiahahu, as the target for each PHC visitor, was accompanied by filling out a questionnaire. The results of completing the questionnaire by participants showed a significant increase in knowledge through this socialization (p<0.05). Promotional steps through socialization are needed continuously to stop stigma and discrimination against people with epilepsy.
