Bakti Sosial Sebagai Solusi Keterbatasan Layanan Kesehatan Dokter Spesialis di Banda Neira
Abstract
Optimal health services for the community require specialist health services so that they can be an important reference for the community in dealing with more specific health conditions. Based on data from the Central Maluku Central Statistics Agency (BPS) in 2023, the Regional Hospital in the Banda Islands only has one hospital and not a single specialist doctor. The existence of only one health facility in this remote area illustrates how limited access to health services is for the local community. In line with these problems, Social Service is carried out in the form of Health Services by Specialist Doctors located at Banda Neira Regional Hospital, Central Maluku. This activity was attended by 233 participants, dominated by those aged 56-65 years (35.2%) and the majority were female (68.7%). Based on the results of the examination, it was found that the majority of participants experienced nervous system diseases, 99 participants (42.5%), followed by internal diseases, 76 participants (32.6%), dermatology diseases, 14 participants (6%), cardiovascular diseases, 7 participants (3%), and 37 participants (15.9%) had general diseases. The examinations carried out helped provide an overview of the prevalence of disease in the Banda Neira community. It is hoped that this activity will not only provide access to quality and specialized health examinations, but also increase public awareness through education about the importance of early detection of various health problems.
