SOSIALIASI DAN PELATIHAN PEMBUATAN PESTISIDA NABATI BERBAHAN DASAR DAUN PEPAYA DI BPPMDDTT AMBON
Abstract
Botanical pesticides have the potential to be an environmentally friendly and affordable alternative for controlling plant pests and diseases. This study aims to conduct socialization and training on the production of botanical pesticides using papaya leaf as the main ingredient to the community around the BPPMDDTT Office. The method employed involves the transfer of knowledge through socialization and training sessions. The results of this activity demonstrate that papaya leaves contain toxic compounds such as saponin, karpain alkaloid, papain, and flavonoids, which can effectively control pests. Despite challenges such as weather conditions and community engagements, there was a high level of enthusiasm among the participants during the socialization and training sessions. Through the training, community members were able to learn the step-by-step process of producing botanical pesticides using papaya leaves. In conclusion, this socialization activity successfully enhanced the community's understanding of producing botanical pesticides and increased their participation in implementing these methods on their own crops
