Abstract

This article describes the Thematic KKN program which is a form of activity that provides learning experiences for students to live in the midst of society outside the campus. I became one of the students of the Thematic KKN located at SD Kartika XIII-1 Ambon, Waihaong Village, Nusaniwe District. The University focused our Thematic KKN on the importance of literacy learning for students in schools and the use of learning media in the classroom. Literacy for students is an important point, besides that it is important for schools and teachers to raise awareness of the importance of control to students in class learning using learning media. By implementing literacy in the classroom and utilizing learning media, it is hoped that students can grow into a generation that can think critically.  Using a qualitative approach with a case study type of research, the results of research and interviews and observations conducted show that the role of Thematic KKN students at SD Kartika XIII-1 Ambon in learning Literacy in the classroom and utilizing learning media to students and also increasing parents' awareness of the importance of control to children in the learning process at home, shows that it is very beneficial in increasing the resources and potential of students at school
