Kerusakan Tanaman Cengkeh (Zyzygium aromaticum) Akibat Serangan Penyakit Di Kecamatan Saparua
Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penyakit yang menyerang tanaman cengkeh, intensitas kerusakan tanaman, dan system budiyada cengkeh yang diterapkan petani di Kecamatan Saparua Kabupaten Maluku Tengah. Penelitian lapangan pada areal pertanaman cengkeh milik petani, Sedangkan penelitian laboratorium dilakukan pada laboratorium diagnose penyakit dan laboratorium nematoda Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Pattimura. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode survey dengan penentuan desa sampel secara proporsif yaitu dengan menetapkan 3 desa (Itawaka, Paperu, dan Ullath). Pada setiap desa ditetapkan 5 petani sebagai petani sampel dan penentuan tanaman sampel dilakukan secara acak dengan mengambil 10 tanaman cengkeh dari tiap petani sampel. Intensitas kerusakan tanaman di kecamatan Saparua akibat penyakit bercak daun adalah 11,42% dan penyakit embun jelaga pada petani 3 desa Itawaka yaitu sebesar 16,87% dan tergolong dalam kategori ringan. Teknik budidaya pada tanaman cengkeh di Kecamatan Saparua belum dilakukan dengan baik karena kegiatan pemupukan dan pengendalian penyakit tidak pernah dilakukan pada ketiga desa sampel.
