PEMBERSIHAN PANTAI DAN PEMASANGAN PAPAN HIMBAUAN SEBAGAI STRATEGI PENCEGAHAN PENCEMARAN PESISIR DI PANTAI SOIYA NEGERI LATU
Abstract
Coastal pollution is an escalating environmental issue driven by human activities, improper waste disposal practices, and the lack of public awareness regarding the importance of preserving coastal ecosystems. This community service activity was implemented as a mitigation effort against coastal pollution through direct action and environmental education approaches. The purpose of this program was to reduce the pollution load at Soiya Beach, enhance community awareness, and promote behavioral change through coordinated beach-cleaning activities and the installation of informational signage. The activity was conducted on 10 October in commemoration of World Habitat Day. The implementation methods included waste collection, shoreline cleaning, and the installation of prohibition signs and educational notices at strategic locations. The integrated efforts—comprising waterflow clearing, beach cleaning, and the placement of warning and educational boards—demonstrated that a combined preventive and curative approach can generate significant impacts in reducing coastal pollution and improving the environmental quality of Soiya Beach.
