Abstract

Latuhalat village has abundant fisheries potential, but its utilization is mostly limited to fresh fish sales and some traditional processing. This leads to low added value and fish spoilage during peak catch seasons. This community service aimed to improve the community's knowledge regarding fishery product processing by applying the Blue Economy concept (zero waste production). The implementation method used was the Participatory Learning Method (PLM) through interactive counseling and focused group discussions with 48 participants, consisting of housewives and fishermen. The results showed high participant enthusiasm and an increased understanding of zero-waste marine product diversification. This activity is expected to encourage the growth of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in fish processing that can absorb labor, increase product sales value, and ultimately improve community welfare sustainably.
