Pelatihan Desain Infografis Interaktif untuk Mendukung Pembelajaran Kreatif

Abstract

Communication confidence is an essential life skill that enables children and adolescents to participate actively in educational, social, and community activities. However, many young learners have limited opportunities to develop speaking confidence through authentic and enjoyable communication experiences. This community service program aimed to enhance the public speaking competence and communication confidence of children and adolescents participating in the Pre-BADAR activities at GPM Hatu Church, Maluku, Indonesia. The program employed a participatory community engagement approach grounded in experiential learning principles and involved 32 children and adolescents. Training activities included communication games, storytelling, role-play, master of ceremonies simulations, reporter performances, mini podcast presentations, and collaborative speaking challenges supported by simple digital technology. Program outcomes were evaluated through direct observation, facilitators' field notes, participant reflections, and mentors' feedback. The findings demonstrated noticeable improvements in participants' communication confidence, willingness to speak before an audience, collaborative interaction, and active participation throughout the training. Participants also showed greater enthusiasm in expressing ideas and reflecting on their own speaking performance using smartphone-based recording activities. These findings suggest that interactive public speaking training integrated with creative performance activities provides an effective community-based learning model for strengthening communication competence, self-confidence, collaboration, and youth empowerment in faith-based educational settings.
