Persepsi Siswa terhadap Penggunaan Kecerdasan Buatan (AI) dalam Proses Pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris

Abstract

This community service activity aimed to enhance students’ understanding of the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in English language learning and to identify their perceptions of its implementation in the learning process. The activity was conducted through socialization sessions and guided assistance on the use of AI-based tools for English learning, involving students as participants. The methods employed included material presentation, demonstrations of AI applications, hands-on practice, and questionnaire distribution to evaluate students’ perceptions after participating in the activity. The findings revealed that most students held positive perceptions toward the use of AI, as it helped them understand learning materials, enrich vocabulary, improve language skills, and support more flexible learning experiences. Nevertheless, students also emphasized the importance of using AI wisely to avoid overdependence on technology while maintaining critical thinking skills. The novelty of this activity lies in integrating AI socialization with English language learning while examining students’ perceptions within the context of digital literacy. These findings recommend the development of technology-enhanced language learning that promotes ethical AI use, creativity, and digital competence in the educational process.
