JURMAL PENDIDIKAN GEOGRAFI UNPATTI is a peer-reviewed journal published by Primary Teacher Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education Universitas Mataram. The research manuscripts submitted to this online journal will be peer-reviewed with the double-blind review process. The accepted research papers will be available online (free download) following the journal's peer-review process. The final decision on acceptance of the article will be made by the Editor under the reviewer's comments. The plagiarism detection of articles in this journal is carried out using The languages used in this journal are mostly Indonesian and English.

The peer-review process at PROGRES PENDIDIKAN consists of 7 steps with the following description.

1. Submission of Paper

When the authors wanted to submit their manuscript, this was done through an online system supported by the Open Journal System (OJS). However, to facilitate authors, the editorial team also received manuscripts via email:

2. Editorial Office Assessment

First, the submitted manuscripts will be evaluated by the Chief Editor. The Editor-in-Chief (EIC) or Deputy Chief Editor (DCE) checks whether the manuscript is appropriate, original, interesting, and significant enough to be published. If not, the manuscript may be rejected without further review. Editor-in-Chief will assign the Editor to check whether it matches the focus and scope of PROGRES PENDIDIKAN. The composition and arrangement of the manuscript are evaluated against the journal's Writers' Guidelines to ensure it includes the necessary sections and stylization. Every submitted manuscript which passes this step will be checked by Turnitin to identify any plagiarism before being reviewed by Reviewers.

3. Invitation to Reviewers

The handling editor sends invitations to individuals he believes will be appropriate reviewers based on expertise, the proximity of research interests, and no conflicts of interest. The peer-review process in PROGRES PENDIDIKAN involves a narrowly defined community of experts in elementary education educational science in general who meet the requirements and are able to conduct impartial reviews. The impartiality is also guarded by the double-blind peer review used in this journal. So, reviewers do not know the identity of the author, and vice versa, the paper is sent to two or three reviewers selected by the Editor.

4. Response to Invitations

Potential reviewers consider solicitation of their own expertise, conflicts of interest, and availability. They then decide to accept or reject. In the invitation letter, the editor may ask the would-be reviewer for suggestions of alternative reviewers, when he or she declines to review.

5. Review is Conducted

The reviewer allocates time to read the paper several times. The first reading is used to form the initial impression of the work. If major problems are identified at this stage, the reviewer may feel comfortable turning down the paper without further work. Otherwise, they'll read the paper a few more times, taking notes to build up a detailed point-by-point review in the Review form. The review is then submitted to the journal, with a recommendation to accept or reject it, or with a request for revision (usually marked as major or minor) before being reconsidered.

6. The Decision

The editor emails a decision to the author including any relevant reviewer comments. The reviewer's comments are sent anonymously to the respective authors to take necessary action and feedback. At this point, the reviewer will also be sent an email or letter letting them know the results of their review.

7. Final Steps

If accepted, the manuscript is sent to production. If the manuscript is rejected or sent back to the author for major or minor revisions, the section editor will include constructive comments from the reviewer to help the author improve the article. The authors must make corrections and revise the paper according to the reviewers' comments and instructions.

After revision has been complete, the author should resubmit the revised manuscript back to the editor, which is equipped with a front-page containing a checklist that states the points of correction and revision that have been made.

If a manuscript is sent back for revision, reviewers should expect to receive the revised version, unless they have opted out of further participation. However, where only minor changes are requested this follow-up review may be made by the section editor.

If the editor is happy with the revised manuscript, it is deemed accepted. Received manuscripts will be published online and all freely available as downloadable pdf files (open access).
