Keanekaragaman Serangga pada Dusung Cengkeh di Kecamatan Leihitu Kabupaten Maluku Tengah
Abstract
Insect diversity plays an important role in maintaining the balance of food webs in an agricultural ecosystem. The objective of this study was to identify insects found in clove plantations and to obtain data on the diversity and dominance of insects in clove plantations. This study was conducted in two stages: field research at three clove agroforestry sites in Leihitu District (Hitu, Hila, and Morella) and laboratory identification of the collected insects. Four types of traps were used: yellow sticky traps, bait traps, pitfall traps, and light traps. The results showed that 1,960 individual insects belonging to 8 orders and 15 families were collected. The orders found included Diptera, Hymenoptera, Hemiptera, Coleoptera, Orthoptera, Lepidoptera, and Phasmatodea. The overall Shannon-Wiener diversity index (H') was 0.388 (low category), and the Simpson dominance index (D') was 0.868 (high category). The high dominance index was driven by the abundance of the family Tephritidae (fruit flies) across all three research sites.
