KARAKTERISTIK FISIK PANTAI DAN DISTRIBUSI SARANG ALAMIPENYU LEKANG (Lepidochelys olivacea) DI PANTAI SOSADALE ROTE-NDAO NUSA TENGGARA TIMUR
Abstract
Kajian tentang karakteristik dan distribusi sarang alami penyu lekang (Lepidochelys olivacea) di Pantai Sosadale Rote-Ndao, Nusa Tengara Timurdilakukan dari bulan Juni sampai Agustus 2019. Penelitian menggunakan metode survei untuk penetuan 5 stasiun pengamatan dan dilanjutkan dengan pengukuran karakteristik pantai peneluran. Hasil penelitian diperoleh jumlah sarang alami penyu lekang berturut-turut dari stasiun pengamatan 1-5, sebanyak 0, 3, 3, 6, 6 unit sarang. Hasil pengukuran karakteritik fisik pantai stasiun 1 berbatu, 2 dan 3 sedikit berbatu, 4 dan 5 pasir. Beberapa karakteristik fisik pantai Sosadale,yaitu rata-rata kemiringan 11o, lebar pantai 39,5m, panjang pantai 500m. Berdasarkan hasil pengukuran karakteristik sarang alami diameter sarang 16,1cm ± 9,3cm, suhu sarang 21,98o ± 12,3o, kedalaman sarang 26,2 cm ± 14,6cm, kelembapan sarang 26,5% ± 14,8%, dan jarak kevegetasi 1,34m ± 0,7 m, maka disimpulkan bahwa habitat peneluran di Pantai Sosadale Rote-Ndao sangat sesuai untuk peletakan telur dan inkubasi telur penyu Lekang.
