Abstract

This research aims to analyze the role of public sector policies in the development of Smart Villages in Indonesia, focusing on the utilization of information and communication technology (ICT) to improve the quality of life in rural communities. Although the Indonesian government has launched various programs such as the Digital Village Program and Smart City, the implementation of these policies still faces various challenges, including limited infrastructure, low digital literacy, and lack of inter-agency coordination. This research uses a bibliometric approach to map relevant research and policy trends, as well as to identify challenges and opportunities in the development of Smart Villages. The research findings indicate that despite progress, existing public sector policies have not yet been fully effective in addressing the digital divide between villages and cities. This research recommends the need for more inclusive and integrated policy improvements, as well as strengthening human resource capacities in villages to support the creation of sustainable and competitive Smart Villages.
