The Role of the Kola Language in Wedding Ceremonies in Gumsey Village, Aru Islands Regency
Abstract
Based on this, the purpose of this study is to describe the function of kola language in traditional wedding ceremonies in Gumsey Village, Sir-Sir Aru District, Aru Islands Regency. Kola language is a cultural language that can only be used as a means of communication in the context of customs. Kola language is what must be preserved and developed in the cultural life of the molukas cummunity, especially the use of the kola language used in traditional marriage ceremonies. This research was conducted using data collection techniques, interviews, recordings and documentation. From the research results, it is found that the function of language is a function as a communicaation tool, as a unifying tool, as a tool for self- expression, as a tool for social integration and adaptation in certain environments or situations, and as a tool for social control.
