Peran Sepak Bola dalam Mengatasi Konflik antar Desa Mamala dan Desa Morella Kecamatan Leihitu Kabupaten Maluku Tengah

Abstract

This study aims to explore the extent to which football can serve as a medium for resolving conflicts between Mamala and Morella Villages in Leihitu District, Central Maluku Regency. The research adopts a descriptive qualitative approach. The participants include both governmental and non-governmental representatives from the administrative areas of Mamala and Morella Villages, as well as selected individuals identified based on their roles and relevance to the study. Sampling was conducted using purposive and snowball techniques. Data were collected through observation, interviews, documentation, and triangulation. The findings indicate that football has played a significant role in mitigating inter-village conflicts between Mamala and Morella. Conflict resolution through football has proven more effective than other alternative approaches. However, the study also reveals that the sport has not yet received adequate attention and support from the local governments of both villages
