PATTIMURA Legal Journal, abbreviated as (PELA), is a peer-reviewed media managed and published by the Postgraduate Program Doctoral of Law, Universitas Pattimura. The word PELA is lifted from the terms or institutions of social traditions known in the Maluku people. PELA is a form of agreement between the State or Village in Maluku because of an event that occurred between the State or Village so that an agreement is made in a joint agreement which is carried out in the form of a traditional ceremony to make an agreement for life in living its life. PATTIMURA Legal Journal publishes scientific papers in the field of law, published three times a year in April, August and December. PATTIMURA Legal Journal on May 30, 2022 was published for the first Issue of Volume 1 Issue 1 April 2022. Starting from 2025 onward, the PATTIMURA Legal Journal requires English as its main language and therefore only accepts journal articles written in English.

PATTIMURA Legal Journal starting from the April 2026 edition, the change in focus and scope is specifically to accept articles that focus on Political Legal issues.
