2022 — Establishment and First Publication

PATTIMURA Legal Journal (PELA) was established as a peer-reviewed scholarly journal managed and published by the Postgraduate Program in Law, Universitas Pattimura, Indonesia. The journal published its inaugural issue as Volume 1, Issue 1 (April 2022) on May 30, 2022.

The journal subsequently obtained ISSN 2830-2435 under ISSN Decree Number 0005.28302435/K.4/SK.ISSN/2022.06, following its ISSN application submitted on June 10, 2022.

2025 — English Publication and SINTA 4 Accreditation

Beginning in 2025, the journal adopted English as its primary and exclusive publication language, marking an important step toward strengthening international scholarly communication and increasing the accessibility and visibility of its published research.

In March 2025, PATTIMURA Legal Journal obtained its first national journal accreditation at SINTA 4 from the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia. The accreditation was granted under Decree Number 10/C/C3/DT.05.00/2025 and was valid from Volume 1, Issue 1 (2022) through Volume 5, Issue 1 (2026).

April 2026 — Focus and Scope Development

Beginning with the April 2026 issue, the journal refined its editorial direction and specifically focused its scope on Political Law. The revised focus welcomes scholarly contributions addressing legal and regulatory dimensions of political processes, political institutions, governance, public policy, democratic development, and the relationship between law and political power.

2026 — National Reaccreditation to SINTA 2

In 2026, PATTIMURA Legal Journal successfully underwent national reaccreditation and was upgraded to SINTA 2. The reaccreditation was granted under Decree Number 355/DST/D.D1/HM.01.01/2026.

The SINTA 2 national accreditation is valid from Volume 4, Issue 3 (2025) through Volume 9, Issue 2 (2030). The journal's current accreditation status can also be verified through its official SINTA profile.

Ongoing — Continuing Editorial Development

PATTIMURA Legal Journal continues to strengthen its editorial governance, peer-review practices, publication ethics, editorial integrity, scholarly quality, and international visibility. The journal remains committed to providing a reliable platform for the dissemination and exchange of high-quality legal scholarship at both national and international levels.
