Strategi Komunikasi Kolaboratif Berbasis Partisipasi Pemuda dalam Penguatan Citra Destinasi Wisata di Pantai Nam Indah, Maluku
Abstract
This study aims to examine collaborative communication strategies based on youth participation in strengthening the destination image of Nam Indah Beach, located in Ohoitahit Village, North Dullah Island District, Maluku. The research is grounded in the significance of inclusive and collaborative communication in fostering sustainable tourism development. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis. The findings reveal that the communication strategies adopted by the village government emphasize the active involvement of local youth, the use of social media as a promotional tool, and collaboration between local authorities and community groups. These strategies have proven effective in enhancing the image of Nam Indah Beach as a destination with strong local identity and ecotourism potential. The initiatives have fostered a sense of ownership among residents, encouraged participation in environmental conservation, and increased the destination’s competitiveness amid external challenges such as inter-destination rivalry and environmental threats. The novelty of this study lies in its community-based youth collaboration model, which not only strengthens destination branding but also promotes social transformation and community empowerment. The study recommends strengthening participatory-based strategic communication capacity in tourism practices to enrich social sciences and humanities discourse, particularly in development communication and community-based tourism studies.
