Dinamika Populasi Ikan Layang Anggur (Decapterus kurroides Bleeker 1855) di Perairan Pulau Ambon
Abstract
Research on population dynamics covering growth, mortality, and exploitation rate of the redtail scad (Decapterus kurroides) was conducted from January to June 2025 in the waters of Tulehu Village, Ambon Island, Maluku Province. Fish samples were collected randomly every month from fishermen's handline catches. The total length of the fish was measured from the tip of the mouth to the tip of the tail using a measuring board to the nearest 0.1 cm. Total length data were then grouped into 1 cm class intervals to create a frequency distribution. Growth parameters, mortality, exploitation rate were processed using FiSAT II program and relevant standard methods. The results showed that the growth parameters L∞, K, and t0 were 33.08 cm, 0.61/year, and -0.258 year, respectively, and the fish could reach a maximum age of 4.92 years. The total mortality rate (Z), natural mortality (M), and fishing mortality (F) were 1.87/year, 1.26/year, and 0.61/year, respectively with an exploitation rate (E) of 0.33. The results of this study indicate that the redtail scad (D. kurroides) in the waters of Tulehu Village, Ambon Island has a fast growth rate and its population is underfished.
