Peer Review Process

All submitted manuscripts are first reviewed by the editor. It will be evaluated by the editor whether it is in accordance with the focus and scope of the PATTIMURA COMMUNICATION SCIENCE JOURNAL or has methodological weaknesses and a large similarity score using iThenticate. All manuscripts must be free from content plagiarism.

Before sending an article to a reviewer, the article is first checked for similarities/plagiarism by members of the editorial team. Papers submitted to the PATTIMURA JOURNAL OF COMMUNICATION SCIENCE must have a similarity level of less than 25%

Submitted manuscripts will be reviewed by at least two reviewers (peer-reviewers) to check contribution, originality, relevance, and presentation. Reviewers will provide comments and convey their scientific value. Reviewers' comments are then sent to the corresponding author for necessary action and response. Reviewers will improve the contents of the manuscript and each reviewer is given three (3) weeks to carry out the review. If within the specified time the reviewer does not provide a response, the review process is replaced by another reviewer who has the same qualifications.

Review Results

Each submitted article will be reviewed independently by at least two peer-reviewers (Double Blind Peer-Review) . After review, there will be four types of editorial decisions based on reviewer recommendations:

  1. Rejected - Manuscripts that are rejected will not be published and the author does not have the opportunity to resubmit a revised version of the manuscript to the PATTIMURA COMMUNICATION SCIENCE JOURNAL.
  2. Resubmit for Review - The submission needs rework, but with significant changes, is acceptable. However, this requires a second round of review.
  3. Accept with Revision - Manuscripts that receive a decision to accept-waiting for revision will be published in the PATTIMURA COMMUNICATION SCIENCE JOURNAL. provided that minor/major modifications are made. Revisions will be reviewed by an editor to ensure necessary updates are made before publication.
  4. Accept - Accepted manuscripts will be published in their current form with no further modifications required.

 The recommended decisions will be evaluated at the editorial board meeting. After that, the editor will send the final decision to the corresponding author.

Suggestions from reviewers and editors will be conveyed to the author, who will then have the opportunity to revise the paper. Manuscripts returned to the author for revision can be kept for a maximum of four weeks.

Correspondence

All correspondence regarding the manuscript should be addressed to the Editor of the PATTIMURA COMMUNICATION SCIENCE JOURNAL. Open Journal System (OJS). The editor will direct all correspondence to the primary author; The primary author is responsible for sharing communications with other authors.

 After Acceptance

Accepted papers will be edited by the Editor of the PATTIMURA COMMUNICATION SCIENCE JOURNAL at Pattimura University.
