The May 2026 edition of Baileo: Jurnal Sosial Humaniora (Vol. 3 Issue 3) features 16 interdisciplinary articles authored by 39 scholars from Indonesia, South Africa, and Eswatini. This issue reflects the journal’s expanding international engagement while maintaining a strong focus on social, cultural, legal, economic, and governance issues relevant to Indonesia and the broader Global South. The articles examine a diverse range of contemporary topics, including homelessness and social exclusion, marriage and family transformation, agrarian governance, identity and acculturation, mental health, gender and LGBTQIA+ inclusion, criminal justice reform, local democracy, organizational performance, environmental governance, digital transformation, media law, and consumer behavior. Several contributions highlight the social dynamics of Eastern Indonesia, offering critical insights into decolonization, cultural resilience, community development, and social transformation within island and peripheral societies. International contributions from South Africa and Eswatini enrich this issue through analyses of homelessness, mental health, family transitions, and inclusive higher education, fostering comparative discussions on social justice, well-being, and public policy. Together, these studies demonstrate the value of interdisciplinary scholarship in addressing complex societal challenges and advancing evidence-based knowledge across diverse contexts.
