Aims:
EQUILIBRIUM is a peer-reviewed journal dedicated to advancing the understanding of economic development through interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary lenses. The journal serves as a platform for scholarly dialogue that moves beyond traditional economic siloes, integrating insights from diverse fields such as political science, sociology, environmental studies, public policy, and geography to address complex development challenges.
Scope:
EQUILIBRIUM invites high-quality research articles, theoretical reviews, and policy perspectives that explicitly employ interdisciplinary approaches to economic development. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
- Development Economics and Social Inclusion: Poverty, inequality, gender, migration, and human capital development.
- Economics and Environmental Sustainability: Green economy, climate change adaptation/mitigation, sustainable resource management, and circular economy.
- Institutions, Governance, and Political Economy: The role of institutions, corruption, state capacity, and global governance in development.
- Innovation, Digital Transformation, and Development: The impact of fintech, digital platforms, and technological innovation on economic systems.
- Methodological Innovations in Development Studies: Novel theoretical frameworks, mixed-methods research, and systems thinking applied to development problems.
The journal particularly welcomes studies that demonstrate a genuine transfer of concepts, theories, or methods from one discipline to another, leading to novel insights or solutions for achieving holistic and sustainable economic development.
