Peer Review Process
EQUILIBRIUM: Journal of Economics and Development Studies employs a rigorous double-blind peer-review process to ensure the quality, validity, and originality of all published research. This means that the identities of both the authors and the reviewers remain confidential throughout the review process.
Initial Screening
Upon submission, each manuscript undergoes an initial check by the editorial office to ensure it complies with the journal's formatting guidelines, scope, and ethical standards. Manuscripts that do not meet these requirements may be returned to the authors without proceeding to scientific review.
Peer Review
Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are assigned to an Editor, who oversees the review process. The Editor invites at least two independent, expert reviewers to evaluate the manuscript based on:
-
Originality and significance
-
Methodological soundness
-
Clarity of presentation
-
Validity of results and conclusions
-
Relevance to the journal's scope
Editorial Decision
The Editor makes a final decision based on the reviewers' recommendations, which may include:
-
Accept
-
Minor Revisions
-
Major Revisions
-
Reject
Authors are typically provided with the reviewers' anonymous comments to guide revisions. Revised manuscripts may be sent back to the original reviewers for re-evaluation.
Ethical Standards
The peer review process is conducted in accordance with COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines. Reviewers are required to declare any potential conflicts of interest and maintain confidentiality regarding the manuscript content.
The entire process, from submission to final decision, aims to be completed within 3 months, though complex revisions may require additional time.
