Tahuri Philosophy: Echoing Local Wisdom in Education and Language

Tahuri Journal draws inspiration from a traditional communication instrument of Maluku, the bia trumpet or tahuri (triton), which was once used by village leaders to announce important events to the community. Just as the sound of the tahuri connected leaders and their people, this journal serves as an academic medium that amplifies voices, ideas, and reflections in the fields of education, language, and the arts.

The name Tahuri symbolizes the effort to preserve and revive local wisdom that has gradually faded amid modern technological progress. In this spirit, Tahuri Journal is not merely a scholarly publication but also a cultural reflection space that bridges academic knowledge with the socio-cultural realities of Maluku and Eastern Indonesia.

Historical Journey and Commitment Since 2019

Tahuri Journal officially launched its digital edition with Volume 16, No. 2 (March–August 2019) as part of Universitas Pattimura’s initiative to strengthen its academic publishing culture. It is published by the Department of Language and Arts, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), Universitas Pattimura Ambon, and issued biannually in February and August.

The journal carries ISSN 1693-7481 (Print) and ISSN 2685-4198 (Online), accessible through its official website: http://ojs3.unpatti.ac.id/index.php/tahuri.

Through its transition to the updated Open Journal System (OJS), Tahuri Journal continues to expand its digital presence while improving editorial quality and accessibility for authors, reviewers, and readers.
