"Amanisal" is the local name for a traditional fish pot used in some coastal areas of Indonesia, particularly Maluku. This pot falls into the category of "simple bubu," which is a type of fishing gear made from natural materials such as bamboo, rattan, or woven leaves. The bubu is typically basket-shaped with one or more openings designed to allow fish to enter easily but make it difficult for them to escape. The principle behind this simple bubu is to use bait placed inside to attract fish, trapping them within the device. "Amanisal" refers to a specific variation or type of this bubu used in the Maluku region.
