Plagiarism Policy

Maximum Similarity Limit and Publication Ethics:

  • To uphold the originality and integrity of scholarly work, the Honoli Journal of Primary Teacher Education sets a maximum similarity index of 25%, excluding the bibliography.
  • Manuscripts with a similarity index exceeding 25% will be rejected without undergoing the peer-review process.
  • Authors must ensure that the submitted work is entirely original. If authors use the work and/or words of others, proper citation must be provided.
  • Authors are not allowed to publish manuscripts that describe essentially the same research in more than one journal or primary publication. Submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal simultaneously constitutes unethical publishing behavior and is unacceptable.
  • Proper acknowledgment of the work of others must always be given. Authors should cite publications that have significantly influenced the nature of the reported work.

Plagiarism Screening Procedure

To maintain publication quality, all submitted manuscripts will go through two stages of screening:

  • Manual Screening by the Editorial Team, which involves checking citations, paraphrasing, and direct quotations from both online and offline sources.
  • Digital Screening using internationally recognized anti-plagiarism software, such as Turnitin.

Workflow:

  • The Editorial Team conducts a manual review of the manuscript using online and offline databases, including verifying citations and proper use of quotation marks.
  • The Editorial Team also checks the manuscript using Turnitin.
