Post-Publication Discussion
PAPALELE: Jurnal Penelitian Sosial Ekonomi Perikanan dan Kelautan welcomes constructive discussion of its published articles. Concerns about a published article, including questions of accuracy, ethics, or undisclosed conflicts of interest, may be sent to the editorial office at jpapalele@gmail.com. The corresponding author serves as the post-publication contact for the article.
When an author discovers a significant error or inaccuracy in his or her own published work, the author is obliged to promptly notify the editor or publisher and cooperate in retracting or correcting the paper. If the editor or publisher learns from a third party that a published work contains a significant error, the author is obliged to promptly retract or correct the paper, or to provide evidence to the editor of the correctness of the original paper.
When an ethical complaint is presented concerning a published paper, the editor, in conjunction with the publisher, takes reasonably responsive measures. These generally include contacting the author and giving due consideration to the complaint or claims made, and may include further communication with the relevant institutions and research bodies. If the complaint is upheld, the journal may publish a correction, retraction, expression of concern, or other relevant note. Every reported act of unethical publishing behavior is looked into, even if it is discovered years after publication. Competing interests that are revealed after publication are addressed through the publication of a correction.
