Abstract

Learning activities on social studies learning and still using the lecture and question and answer method. The purpose of this study was to obtain data on the growth of social studies learning activities using the role playing method in elementary schools.

The method used by researchers in this study is the method of classroom action research (PTK), classroom action research carried out by this researcher was carried out in 2 cycles. The subjects in this study were students of grade IV with a total of 14 students.

The results of the percentage of student activity sheets for the first cycle of the first meeting with an average of 5.47%, and the first cycle of the second meeting with an average of 6.16 and the student activity sheet for the second cycle of the first meeting with an average of 6.88 and the cycle The second meeting II with an average growth rate of 7.29 between the first cycle of the first meeting and the first cycle of the second meeting and the second cycle of the first meeting and the second cycle of the second meeting was 25.8%. Based on the description above, it can be concluded that learning using the role playing method can foster social studies learning activities in elementary schools
