AUTHOR GUIDELINES

We welcome submissions from scholars, educators, and practitioners in Applied Linguistics, Literature, and Culture. Before submitting your manuscript, please review the following guidelines to ensure your work aligns with our journal’s focus and standards.

1. Manuscript Types

The Huele: Journal of Applied Linguistics, Literature and Culture accepts the following types of manuscripts:

  • Original Research Articles
  • Theoretical Papers
  • Literature Reviews
  • Case Studies
  • Book Reviews

2. Formatting Requirements

  • File Format: Submit your manuscript in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format.
  • Font: Use Garamond, 12-point font size.
  • Spacing: 1.5-space all text, including references and footnotes.
  • Margins: Set margins to 1 inch (2.54 cm) on all sides.
  • Length: Manuscripts, including references, should typically be between 3,000 to 8,000 words.
  • Title Page: Include a separate title page with the following information:
    • Title of the manuscript
    • Author(s) name(s)
    • Affiliation(s)
    • Corresponding author’s email address

3. Structure of the Manuscript

  • Abstract: Provide a concise abstract of 150-250 words summarizing your study's main findings and contributions.
  • Keywords: Include 3-5 keywords that represent the main topics of your manuscript.
  • Main Body: Organize the main body of your manuscript into clear sections (e.g., Introduction, Literature Review, Methodology, Results, Discussion, Conclusion).
  • References: Follow the APA (American Psychological Association) style for citations and references. Ensure all cited works are included in the reference list.

4. Submission Process

  • Online Submission: Manuscripts should be submitted through our online submission system. Please create an account if you do not have one.
  • Ethical Considerations: Ensure that your research complies with ethical standards. If applicable, include a statement regarding ethical approval and consent.

5. Review Process

  • All submitted manuscripts will undergo a double-blind peer review process. Authors may be required to make revisions based on reviewer feedback.
  • The editorial team will notify authors of the decision regarding their submission within 4-8 weeks of submission.

6. Publication Ethics

  • Authors must ensure their work is original and has not been published or submitted elsewhere.
  • Plagiarism in any form is unacceptable and will result in immediate rejection of the manuscript.

7. Copyright

  • Upon acceptance of the manuscript, authors must sign a copyright transfer agreement granting the Huele Journal the right to publish and distribute the work.
