This special issue showcases pioneering innovations at the intersection of pedagogy and technology in mathematics education. The six articles within this edition, born from a collaboration of 22 scholars from Indonesia and Austria, exemplify the vibrant dynamics of global research in the field. The interconnected themes progress from core foundations like mathematical literacy and Higher-Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) to the application of cutting-edge technologies, including Augmented Reality and GeoGebra, which foster immersive learning and alleviate mathematical anxiety. Adding a unique cultural dimension, the issue is further enriched by a contextual approach employing Indonesian Realistic Mathematics Education (PMRI) framed within the Ramayana Ballet narrative.
