SCREENING PLAGIARISM

To uphold the highest standards of academic integrity, all submissions to Jurnal Pendidikan Matematika (Jupitek) undergo a rigorous plagiarism screening process. This policy outlines the procedures and thresholds enforced by the Editorial Board.

Screening Tools:The editorial team utilizes iThenticate and Turnitin as primary tools for plagiarism detection.

Screening Thresholds and Procedure:
The screening process is conducted at two critical stages:

  1. Pre-Review Screening:
Upon submission, every manuscript is screened before it is sent for peer review.

    • Manuscripts with a similarity index of 20% or below will proceed to the peer review stage.
    • Manuscripts exceeding this threshold will be returned to the authors for substantial revision and reduction of similarity before any review can commence.
  2. Pre-Publication Screening:
A final plagiarism check is conducted on all manuscripts that have been accepted after the peer review process. This ensures that the final version to be published adheres to our strict originality standards.

Editorial Discretion:
The similarity percentage is a guiding metric. The editorial board conducts a manual examination of the similarity report. High similarity due to properly quoted material, a standard methodology section, or a common bibliography may be acceptable. However, unoriginal text in the results, discussion, and conclusion sections is treated with utmost seriousness.

This stringent policy reflects our commitment to maintaining the originality and quality of the research we publish.
