In an open-access publication model, the costs of publishing an article are typically covered by the author's research budget or supporting institution through Article Processing Charges (APCs). These charges replace traditional subscription fees and allow publishers to make the full text of every published article freely available to all interested readers.
Komunitas: Jurnal Ilmu Sosiologi applies an APC of IDR 750,000 for authors based in Indonesia. For manuscripts with both Indonesian and international authors, the APC is determined based on the affiliation of the first author.
This fee helps cover the costs associated with peer review, editing, production, and online dissemination of articles, ensuring that readers worldwide can access published works free of charge. The journal maintains a transparent and reasonable fee structure and does not impose additional charges for color illustrations or other publication services.
