About BAREKENG : Journal of Mathematics and Its Applications

BAREKENG : Jurnal Ilmu Matematika dan Terapan (BAREKENG : Journal of Mathematics and Its Applications),  is a scientific publication media, that publishes articles on the result of research or studies in the field of Pure & Applied Mathematics, Pure & Applied Statistics, Actuarial Science, and Mathematics Computation. BAREKENG : Jurnal Ilmu Matematika dan Terapan (BAREKENG : Journal of Mathematics and Its Applications), is published by Pattimura University (website link) in Collaboration with the Indonesian Mathematical Society (IndoMS) (website link).

The meaning of word "BAREKENG" is one of the words from the Native Moluccan language which means "Counting" or "Calculating". Counting is one of the main and fundamental activities in the field of Mathematics. Therefore, we try to promote the word "Barekeng" as the name of our scientific journal while also promoting the culture of the Maluku region. 

The interest of authors to publish articles in BAREKENG : Jurnal Ilmu Matematika dan Terapan (BAREKENG : Journal of Mathematics and Its Applications), continues to greatly increase with each passing year.  Therefore, the number of articles increased as follows:
1. Starting from 2007 to 2018, 2 issues were published each year (8 articles per issue),
2. In 2019 (3 issues published with 8 articles per issue),
3. In 2020 (4 issues published with 15 articles per issue),
4. In 2021 (4 issues published with 20 articles per issue),
5. In 2022 (4 issues published with 40 articles per issue),
6. In 2023 (4 issues published with 60 articles per issue). 
BAREKENG : Jurnal Ilmu Matematika dan Terapan (BAREKENG : Journal of Mathematics and Its Applications), is published 4 (four) times a year in March, June, September, and December.

The first publication in 2007 is in printed version (p-ISSN: 1978-7227) up until 2017. Then, starting from 2018, BAREKENG : Jurnal Ilmu Matematika dan Terapan (BAREKENG : Journal of Mathematics and Its Applications) has been published online (e-ISSN: 2615-3017) on the website: (https://ojs3.unpatti.ac.id/index.php/barekeng/), this journal system is currently using the 3.1.1.4 version of OJS from PKP. 

BAREKENG : Jurnal Ilmu Matematika dan Terapan (BAREKENG : Journal of Mathematics and Its Applications), has proposed the accreditation process to the Indonesian Government three times. Firstly, in December 2018, BAREKENG : Jurnal Ilmu Matematika dan Terapan (BAREKENG : Journal of Mathematics and Its Applications), has been nationally accredited at the third-highest level (SINTA 3), by the Direktur Jenderal Penguatan Riset dan Pengembangan, Kementerian Riset, Teknologi, dan Pendidikan Tinggi, Republic of Indonesia, based on Decree Number: 34/E/KPT/2018 (National Accredited Decree link). Secondly, in the accreditation process in 2019, BAREKENG : Jurnal Ilmu Matematika dan Terapan (BAREKENG : Journal of Mathematics and Its Applications), has been re-accredited at the third-highest level (SINTA 3), by the Direktur Jenderal Penguatan Riset dan Pengembangan, Kementerian Riset, Teknologi, dan Pendidikan Tinggi, Republic of Indonesia based on  Decree Number: 29/E/KPT/2019 (National Accredited Decree link). Thirdly, since 2021, BAREKENG : Jurnal Ilmu Matematika dan Terapan (BAREKENG : Journal of Mathematics and Its Applications), has been accredited at the second-highest level (SINTA 2) by the Direktorat Jenderal Pendidikan Tinggi, Riset dan Teknologi, Republic of Indonesia based on Decree Number: 158/E/KPT/2021 (National Accredited Decree link).
