BAREKENG : Jurnal Ilmu Matematika dan Terapan (BAREKENG : Journal of Mathematics and Its Applications), is one of the scientific publication media, which publish the article related to the result of research or study in the field of Pure Mathematics (analysis, algebra & number theory), Applied Mathematics (Fuzzy, Artificial Neural networks, Mathematics Modeling & Simulation, Control & Optimization, Ethno-mathematics, etc.), Statistics, Actuarial Science, Logic, Geometry & Topology, Numerical Analysis, Mathematics Computation, and Mathematics Education. BAREKENG : Jurnal Ilmu Matematika dan Terapan (BAREKENG : Journal of Mathematics and Its Applications), is published by Pattimura University (link website) in Collaboration with the Indonesian Mathematical Society (IndoMS) (link website).
The meaning word "BAREKENG" is one of the words from the Moluccas language which means "Counting" or "Calculating". Counting is one of the main and fundamental activities in the field of Mathematics. Therefore we tried to promote the word "Barekeng" as the name of our scientific journal and also to promote the culture of the Maluku Area.
The number of authors' interest in publishing articles in BAREKENG : Jurnal Ilmu Matematika dan Terapan (BAREKENG : Journal of Mathematics and Its Applications), has greatly increased every year such as the following:
1. Starting from 2007 to 2018 (2 issues published with 8 articles per issue),
2. In 2019 (3 issues published with 8 articles per issue),
3. In 2020 (4 issues published with 15 articles per issue),
4. In 2021 (4 issues published with 20 articles per issue),
5. In 2022 (4 issues published with 40 articles per issue),
6. In 2023 (4 issues published with 60 articles per issue).
BAREKENG : Jurnal Ilmu Matematika dan Terapan (BAREKENG : Journal of Mathematics and Its Applications), is published 4 (four) times a year in March, June, September, and December.
The first publication in 2007 in printed version (p-ISSN: 1978-7227) and then in 2018 BAREKENG : Jurnal Ilmu Matematika dan Terapan (BAREKENG : Journal of Mathematics and Its Applications), has been published in online version (e-ISSN: 2615-3017) on the website: (https://ojs3.unpatti.ac.id/index.php/barekeng/), this journal system is currently using OJS3.1.1.4 version from PKP. BAREKENG : Jurnal Ilmu Matematika dan Terapan (BAREKENG : Journal of Mathematics and Its Applications), has been three times proposed the accreditation process to the Indonesian Government. Firstly, BAREKENG : Jurnal Ilmu Matematika dan Terapan (BAREKENG : Journal of Mathematics and Its Applications), has been nationally accredited at Level 3 (SINTA 3) since December 2018, based on the Direktur Jenderal Penguatan Riset dan Pengembangan, Kementerian Riset, Teknologi, dan Pendidikan Tinggi, Republic of Indonesia, with Decree No.: 34/E/KPT/2018 (link to National Accredited Decree). Secondly, the accreditation process in 2019, BAREKENG : Jurnal Ilmu Matematika dan Terapan (BAREKENG : Journal of Mathematics and Its Applications), has been re-accredited by Direktur Jenderal Penguatan Riset dan Pengembangan, Kementerian Riset, Teknologi, dan Pendidikan Tinggi, Republic of Indonesia and accredited in level 3 (SINTA 3), with Decree No.: 29/E/KPT/2019 (link to National Accredited Decree). Thirdly, BAREKENG : Jurnal Ilmu Matematika dan Terapan (BAREKENG : Journal of Mathematics and Its Applications), has been accredited at Level 2 (SINTA 2) by Direktorat Jenderal Pendidikan Tinggi, Riset dan Teknologi, Republic of Indonesia based on the Decree Number: 158/E/KPT/2021 (link to National Accredited Decree).
