Article Processing Charge
BAREKENG: Journal of Mathematics and Its Applications is an Open Access Journal, published under a Creative Commons license (CC BY-SA). The Article Processing Charges (APCs) allow the publisher to make articles immediately available online to anyone to read and reuse upon publication. It supports the scientific community and the general public to obtain free, unlimited, and direct access to scientific articles. In order to exist with this license, we charge article loading fees (APC) to authors to cover and support the costs of peer review, editorial activities, checking the final article similarity by iThenticate, article production, DOI registration for each paper, and indexing. Starting from the June 2025 issue, the Article Processing Charges (APC) is IDR (Rp.) 3.000.000,- or 185 USD to be paid after the invoice letter is sent to the author. This fee covers the maximum standard eighteen (18) pages manuscript, BAREKENG: Journal of Mathematics and Its Applications will charge an extra IDR (Rp.) 50.000,- or 4 USD for every additional page.
In order to increase the number of articles from outside Indonesia, BAREKENG: Journal of Mathematics and Its Applications is waiving the Article Processing Charges (APC) for non-Indonesian authors (free publication cost). Authors from outside Indonesia who demonstrate international collaboration involving co-authors from more than one country will be given higher priority for this publication fee waiver, as the journal seeks to promote and strengthen global research collaboration and international academic networking. For articles from Indonesian authors who collaborate with non-Indonesian authors, a discount on publication fees will be given. Furthermore, BAREKENG: Journal of Mathematics and Its Applications also provides APC discounts or waivers for authors who have previously contributed to the development of the journal, such as through active involvement, services, or other significant support. In addition, the Editors may grant APC waivers or reductions to authors whose manuscripts demonstrate strong novelty and make a significant contribution to the advancement of the mathematical sciences. Such recognition is given at the discretion of the Editors as an acknowledgment of the author’s role in supporting and strengthening the journal, as well as advancing the field.
Temporary Closure of New Submissions and Suspension of New Invoicing/Payments
Since 26 January 2026, BAREKENG: Journal of Mathematics and Its Applications is temporarily closing the acceptance of new manuscript submissions and temporarily suspending the issuance of invoices and the collection of publication fees for newly submitted manuscripts. This temporary measure is taken due to, the very high volume of incoming submissions currently received through the BAREKENG OJS system, and ongoing changes in journal governance and management policies being implemented by Universitas Pattimura, which have implications for the journal’s editorial and financial procedures.
While awaiting the institution’s finalized policy direction, all processes related to new submissions will remain on hold, and new publication-fee invoicing and payment processing will remain suspended. During this period, the Editorial Team will prioritize the completion of manuscripts that are already in progress in the OJS system, particularly those targeted for the September 2026 and December 2026 issues, which are currently in the Copyediting and Review stages. Official information regarding the reopening of submissions and the resumption of publication-fee invoicing will be announced on the official BAREKENG journal website after the governance adjustments by Universitas Pattimura have been completed and institutional guidance has been confirmed.
Sincerely,
Editorial Office
