Manis: Jurnal Manajemen dan Bisnis
Published by Department of Management, Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Pattimura, Indonesia
Quick Summary: Authorship in Manis: Jurnal Manajemen dan Bisnis is reserved for individuals who make substantial intellectual contributions to the research and manuscript, approve the final version, and accept responsibility for their contributions and the integrity of the work. Contributors who do not meet the authorship criteria should be acknowledged rather than listed as authors.
Manis: Jurnal Manajemen dan Bisnis is committed to transparent, fair, and responsible attribution of authorship. All individuals listed as authors must have made meaningful intellectual contributions to the submitted manuscript and must accept responsibility for the accuracy and integrity of the scholarly work.
This policy applies to both Original Research Articles and Literature Review Articles. The corresponding author must ensure that all authors have reviewed and approved the final manuscript and have consented to its submission.
Core Principle: Authorship should reflect genuine intellectual contribution, informed approval, and accountability—not status, seniority, funding, or institutional position alone.
To qualify as an author, an individual should satisfy all the following criteria:
Individuals contributing only funding, routine administrative support, general supervision, technical assistance, language editing, or data collection without further qualifying intellectual contributions should not automatically be designated as authors. Such contributions may be recognized in the Acknowledgments section with the contributor's permission.
The order of authors should be agreed upon collectively before submission and should fairly reflect the authors' contributions and disciplinary conventions. The journal encourages authors to provide a concise author-contribution statement using relevant roles, such as conceptualization, methodology, investigation, formal analysis, data curation, writing—original draft, writing—review and editing, visualization, supervision, and project administration.
A contribution statement does not replace the requirement that every listed author must meet the authorship criteria. Disagreements over authorship should ordinarily be resolved by the authors and, where necessary, their institutions.
Requests to add, remove, or reorder authors after submission must be submitted in writing by the corresponding author, explaining the reason for the change and providing written consent from all existing authors and any author to be added or removed.
The editorial team may request additional documentation and may suspend processing while a dispute is resolved. Authorship changes after acceptance or publication require particularly careful consideration. Changes to a published article, where warranted, will be documented through an appropriate editorial notice rather than made silently.
Important: The journal does not adjudicate disputed intellectual ownership on behalf of institutions. If a dispute cannot be resolved, the editorial office may refer the matter to the relevant institution.
Listing individuals because of status, seniority, friendship, or institutional position without sufficient intellectual contribution.
Omitting a person who qualifies for authorship while concealing their significant intellectual contribution.
Including an individual as an author without their knowledge or approval.
Misrepresenting author roles, identities, affiliations, or contributions in the manuscript or submission system.
Artificial intelligence tools, chatbots, and automated systems cannot be listed as authors or co-authors because they cannot assume responsibility or accountability for published research. Human authors remain responsible for verifying any AI-assisted content, references, analysis, and disclosures in accordance with the journal's AI Policy.
See the AI Policy for additional requirements.
Concerns relating to inappropriate authorship, omitted contributors, unauthorized authorship, or misleading declarations may be reported to the editorial office. Editors will assess the available documentation, seek clarification from relevant parties, and may consult the authors' institutions when appropriate.
Depending on the facts and manuscript status, editorial actions may include a request for clarification, suspension of processing, rejection, a published correction, or other action under the journal's publication ethics and correction/retraction policies. Decisions are based on evidence and are not automatic.
Please refer to the journal's Author Guidelines, Publication Ethics, Editorial Policy, and AI Policy.
