Publication Ethics

A. PUBLICATION ETHICS AND MALPRACTICE STATEMENT

Publication ethics adopted by Manis: Jurnal Manajemen dan Bisnis refers to the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and the Regulation of the Head of LIPI Number 5 of 2014 concerning the Code of Ethics for Scientific Publications.

This publication ethics statement applies to all parties involved in the publication process, including authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher. Each party is expected to follow ethical standards to ensure the quality, credibility, and integrity of scientific publications.

Ethical Commitment: The journal does not tolerate plagiarism, duplicate publication, data fabrication, data falsification, inappropriate authorship, conflicts of interest, or any other form of unethical publishing behavior.

B. DUTIES OF AUTHORS

Originality and Plagiarism

Authors must ensure that their manuscripts are original works. Any use of the work, ideas, or words of others must be properly cited or quoted.

Data Access and Retention

Authors may be asked to provide raw data related to their manuscript for editorial review and should retain such data for a reasonable period after publication.

Multiple Publication

Authors must not submit the same manuscript to more than one journal at the same time or publish essentially the same research in multiple publications.

Acknowledgment of Sources

Authors must properly acknowledge all sources that have influenced the research. Information obtained privately must not be used without written permission.

Authorship

Authorship must be limited to those who have made significant contributions to the conception, design, execution, analysis, or interpretation of the study.

Conflict of Interest

Authors must disclose any financial, institutional, personal, or other conflicts of interest that may influence the results or interpretation of the manuscript.

Correction of Published Work: If authors discover significant errors or inaccuracies in their published work, they must promptly notify the journal editor and cooperate in correcting or retracting the article.

C. DUTIES OF EDITORS

Publication Decisions

Editors are responsible for deciding which submitted manuscripts should be published based on academic merit, reviewer recommendations, and journal policies.

Fair Play

Editors evaluate manuscripts based on intellectual content without discrimination based on race, gender, religion, ethnicity, citizenship, or political belief.

Confidentiality

Editors and editorial staff must not disclose information about submitted manuscripts except to the corresponding author, reviewers, editorial advisers, and publisher.

Conflict of Interest

Editors must not use unpublished materials from submitted manuscripts for personal research and must avoid handling manuscripts with conflicts of interest.

Ethical Complaints: Editors will take reasonable and responsive measures when ethical complaints are submitted regarding a manuscript or published article. Actions may include clarification, correction, retraction, expression of concern, or other appropriate steps.

D. DUTIES OF REVIEWERS

Contribution to Decisions

Peer review assists editors in making editorial decisions and helps authors improve the quality of their manuscripts.

Promptness

Reviewers who feel unqualified to review a manuscript or unable to complete the review on time should notify the editor and withdraw from the process.

Confidentiality

Manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents and must not be shared or discussed without authorization.

Objectivity

Reviews must be conducted objectively. Personal criticism of authors is inappropriate. Reviewers should provide clear comments supported by academic arguments.

Acknowledgment of Sources

Reviewers should identify relevant published works that have not been cited and inform the editor of substantial similarity or overlap with other publications.

Disclosure and Conflict

Reviewers must not use unpublished materials for personal advantage and should decline review assignments when conflicts of interest exist.

E. SCREENING FOR PLAGIARISM

All manuscripts submitted to Manis: Jurnal Manajemen dan Bisnis must be free from plagiarism. Authors are encouraged to use plagiarism detection software before submission.

The editors check manuscript similarity using Turnitin or other plagiarism detection software. Manuscripts with a similarity index of less than 20% may be processed further, provided that the similarity does not indicate plagiarism, duplicate publication, or unethical citation practices.

Important: Manuscripts containing plagiarism or other publication misconduct may be rejected at any stage of the editorial process.
